A Traveler's Guide To Monaco

In most cases, to get a general sense of a country you're visiting, you'll need to stay longer and visit several cities. That is not the case with Monaco, however, since this interesting city state can be traversed quickly. Still, there is a lot you might want to know before you start planning your trip to Monaco. Below, we'll list some of the basics travelers might want to know.

Reaching Monaco
Every vacation or trip starts with figuring out how to reach your destination. In the case of Monaco, there are plenty of options. A lot of wealthy visitors to the city choose to arrive by yacht, as part of a larger trip in the Mediterranean sea. If this is not the case for you, there are lots of other options. Trains are one of the most popular solutions, particularly the Paris - Ventimiglia line, especially if you'd like to see a part of Italy or France as a part of your journey. Buses from the nearby city of Nice are also an option.

Getting Around
As mentioned above, Monaco can easily be traversed by foot, and in most cases that is the wiser option. Using a car is likely not to be very productive, since it will take more time to park it than to reach your destination. Public transportation includes buses and taxis, should you need them.

Places to see
The Monaco cathedral is certainly something you would like to see - constructed in 1875, it has an astonishingly captivating architecture. If you want to get into the atmosphere of Monaco, it's best to take a walk through Monaco-ville, the oldest part of the city, fascinating with its peculiar medieval look and feel. If you're into botany and flowers, you might want to go to the Exotic Gardens which facilitates thousands of rare species.

Should you feel interested in the royal family of Monaco, you can visit the Prince's Palace and observe the changing of the guards, or you can take a look at the Prince's automobile collection - an activity every car enthusiast would enjoy. Speaking of cars and automotive enthusiasts, if you plan your trip properly, you can observe the Monaco Grand Prix race, a unique Formula One track you might have seen on TV and a lot of racing video games.

Visiting Monaco is certainly going to be a good decision if you're wondering where to go on your next holiday. It is a culturally enriching destination, with a good climate and a romantic feel - perfect for honeymoons as well.

I have been writing about travel destinations for a few years now, I work closely with companies in Monaco including the real estate agency Icon Property that are based wholly in Monaco.
Other than business interests in Monaco I feel that it is a great place to visit. It really has something for everyone, whether you are a nightlife sort of person or a chilled by the beach type.
