Turkey is a wonderful country with many attractions for holiday makers. Summers are usually rain free and winters are relatively mild.
More and more people are going there on holiday in preference to perhaps what can be described as more traditional countries and having made a first visit, many are expressing a preference to go there again.
This is probably because Turkey has so much to offer in way of beaches, places of historical interest and activities.

As a result of this influx of tourists, many hotels, villas and apartments have come on the market with attractive deals for discerning holiday makers. They are to be found on the blossoming number of web sites advertising and taking bookings.

Indeed the Internet is increasingly being accessed to facilitate the best deals on flights, airport transfers, car hire and the different types of accommodation such as hotels, private villas and apartments. The latter types normally have their own private swimming pools. Also the types of villas and apartments which come on the rental market usually have good quality accommodation and superb furnishings as they look for "repeat business".

As a result of this upsurge in internet usage, the days of travel agents based, in shops seem to be numbered, and only those who have no access or interest in using the Internet will be seeking them out.
Despite the current global recession, Turkey's seems to be holding it's own with regards to tourism. Roads are being upgraded, and many facilities and towns are being improved due to the resultant increase in revenues from tourism.

There are many exciting and beautiful regions and one of the most up and coming ones is the region of Mugla. Flying to Dalaman airport places like Gocek, Fethiye, Ovacik, Hisaranu and Olu Deniz are only an hours drive away or less.
These places boast many good quality restaurants and bars. Also tourists can access boat trips, quad biking, white water rafting and paragliding to name but a few readily accessible activities. There are also many archeological and historical sites going back to the Lycian dynasty and before.

Of course many tourists prefer to lie on the beach and the Mugla region boast world famous beaches such as Patara beach 14 km of sand and home to the Loggerhead turtles which are a protected species. Also there is the beach at Olu Deniz known as the Blue Lagoon. There one can choose to lie on the beach, enjoy boating and water skiing or take to the skies in a micro flight plane or even jump off Bagadag Mountain (2000 m) and para-glide to the beach. Both activities with a pilot, of course!

So, if you haven't been to Turkey for a holiday, perhaps this year is the year for making the break from the more traditional holidays, and through the internet source the best flights, the cheapest car hire and best type of accommodation such as hotels, villas and apartments and head for Turkey for what might be described as the holiday of a lifetime!
